Why we raise pug dogs |
Pug Dog History |
|||||
|
Why not pugs? My husband and I are animal lovers; we've always had a menagerie around the house. |
The pug dog has a rather murky beginning in the pages of history. Most historians agree that the breed began about 400 BC somewhere in China. The breed next showed-up in Japan, then finally Europe where it became a favorite of royalty. | ||||||

Pug Care |
Pug Personality |
||||||
| Because pugs have been selectively bred by humans over centuries for a certain look and behavior, they tend to have special needs. | Pugs have been bred for centuries to be companion animals and that's exactly what they are. Pugs are affectionate, comical, friendly lap dogs. There is no such thing as a stranger to pugs; everybody is their best friend. | ||||||

Proper Pug Confirmation |
More Info: | ||||||
|
AKC Breed Standard Body should be square. In other words: their legs should be about as long as their body. A short-legged, long-bodied confirmation is undesirable.
